The Tokyo Game Show 2021 has just opened (virtually) its doors, and gamers around the world could obviously expect some very Japanese announcements. However, it is the American Microsoft who started the ball rolling.
Times are rather lenient for broke gamers: while yesterday we discovered the new October selection of Xbox Games With Gold (with one of the best Resident Evil to date, sorry), and a certain Marvel’s Avengers arrives this Thursday, September 30 in the Xbox Game Pass offer, you thought that the (Makuhari) mass was said? As always, you were wrong!
Scarlet the perky
Microsoft had indeed kept an asset up its sleeve for the relatively Japanese audience of the Tokyo Game show 2021, since the vice-president Sarah Bond announced during the conference in the form of preamble the immediate arrival of a certain Scarlet Nexus in the subscription offer.
Available since June 25, the action-RPG that our national Joniwan described as the “new spearhead” of the publisher Bandai Namco is therefore now available for subscribers. Recall for all intents and purposes his opinion at the time:
With Scarlet Nexus, Bandai Namco makes a very clean copy, with some imperfections. Its universe is discovered with pleasure, thanks to a story that lets itself follow, impressive monsters, a very charming futuristic cyberpunk manga overall design, but the narration lacks a little punch with its too many panels of still images with captions. The fights are a success and offer to alternate magic and melee, with telekinesis that propels all the elements of the scenery on your opponents! Placing a big combo is a little happiness. RPG side, it’s quite light, but a social aspect complicates the thing since it will be necessary to maintain your links with your little combat comrades to unlock their powers. Clearly, Scarlet Nexus is steeped in good ideas that often hit the mark, and despite its few imperfections, clearly remains above a lot of other games in the same category.
And for those who fall under the spell of this new license, know that the manufacturer’s presentation ended with the promise of a DLC to come “soon”. You have been warned.
