Tom Cruise turned 60 this year, but doesn’t seem remotely thinking of cutting back on his action performances – quite the opposite. For “Top Gun 2: Maverick” he recently (with resounding success with critics and at the box office) let the g-forces work on him in real fighter jets. And in the next part of the “Mission: Impossible” series, Cruise apparently again puts one daring stunt after the next.

In the long-running cult franchise, Tom Cruise has always caused a stir with spectacular and hand-crafted action interludes – whether it’s climbing the world’s tallest building, hanging from the outside of an airplane taking off or a dizzying HALO parachute jump dared. And the upcoming “Mission: Impossible 7” aka “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning” is no exception…
The first trailer for the sequel already gave a glimpse of the stunt fireworks that Cruise and his favorite director Christopher McQuarrie will unleash this time, including a breathtaking motorcycle jump in the mountains. A Video from the shooting should now cause even more open mouths. But it’s best to just see for yourself (people with a fear of heights are warned):
In essence, this is a clip that was already presented to those present at the cinema operator fair CinemaCon at the end of April 2022 together with the trailer mentioned. But it’s only now that the material has found its way onto the Internet – and is now causing astonishment among us in the DashFUN editorial team.
Tom Cruise perches casually on a double-decker airplane at a dizzying height above the picturesque South African landscape and seems only to be holding on to a camera fixed there (however, we assume or rather hope that he is at least still secured by his legs and/or feet, although this cannot be seen on the video).
With his signature wide grin, he once again expresses his love for cinema and announces said trailer, only to be interrupted by Christopher McQuarrie on a second plane to allow filming to resume. And as if that wasn’t breathtaking enough, the plane then turns around while Cruise continues to stand on it, unfazed.
Anyway, having our jaws off the ground, we’re all the more excited to see how the teased airplane sequence will look like in the finished film. We’ll have to wait a little longer for the answer: “Mission: Impossible 7: Dead Reckoning Part 1“ will start in cinemas on July 13, 2023 and forms a two-part series with “Mission: Impossible 8”, which follows a year laterin which super agent Ethan Hunt and his team must once again face a global threat.
