The “Wonder Man” series devoted to the life of Bernard Tapie is about to start filming, just a few months after the famous businessman’s death.
On October 3, we learned of the death of Bernard Tapie from generalized cancer. Businessman and media man, the latter had succeeded in almost all areas: sport, comedy, politics … But the life of the man who is nicknamed the “Boss” has also been marked by many scandals, including the famous OM / VA affair which precipitated the fall of his empire.
The very definition of the chameleon man, coupled with an extraordinary charisma, Bernard Tapie was in a way a fictional character in real life. It is therefore logical that Netflix has decided to devote a series to his extraordinary life, under the title of Wonder Man (“The wonderful man”, in French).
The title of the program refers to the personality of Tapie, but also to the company Wonder (bought for a symbolic franc in 1984, sold for 470 million francs four years later).
Laurent Lafitte has been chosen to lend his features to Bernard Tapie in the series of six episodes, the shooting of which is about to begin under the direction of director Tristan Séguéla, son of publicist Jacques Séguéla, a long-time friend of the late man of ‘business. This will be the second collaboration of the resident of the Comédie-Française with the director, after the comedy 16 years or so.
The Wonder Man series will be filming next March, and will last around four months according to our colleagues from Satellifacts.
