GOLDEN GLOBES 2022. The 79th Golden Globes ceremony will be held this Sunday, January 9, 2022. No TV broadcast is scheduled, and the stars and the public are absent. Where and when can you find the winners?
[Mis à jour le 9 janvier 2022 à 18h00] It is an unprecedented Golden Globes ceremony that takes place in 2022. The prizes are awarded on the night of Sunday January 9 to Monday January 10, 2022, but no stars and no public are present. More annoying for those who are used to following the evening, no TV broadcast takes place. This is partly linked to the health crisis, but also to the virulent criticism of which the ceremony has been the subject for several months. But then, how to discover the 2022 winners live? The announcement of the winners can be followed live on social networks (on Twitter @goldenglobes) or on the official website of the ceremony from 3 am French time.
In May 2021, the ceremony honoring the best of American cinema and television, which often foreshadows the Oscar winners, was the subject of fierce criticism. The Golden Globes have been accused of discrimination, sexism and lack of transparency by several stars, such as Scarlett Johansson and Tom Cruise. NBC has also announced that it will not air the 2022 awards ceremony, although Golden Globes jurors have assured that they will adopt reforms to improve representativeness. This is why, in addition to the health crisis which compromises any gathering, the Golden Globes are to be followed only on social networks this year.
What date for the 2022 Golden Globes?
In turmoil over criticism of the ceremony’s lack of diversity and transparency, the holding of the 2022 Golden Globes has long been compromised. Finally, it will be held this Sunday, January 9, 2022 (or in the night from Sunday to Monday for France). Exceptionally this year, no TV or streaming retransmission is planned, and no star is making the trip.
We do not yet know the full list of Golden Globes 2022. In the absence of TV broadcast, impossible to follow live the list of the ceremony. To find out the winners, go to the Golden Globes Twitter accounts which comment on the evening live (@goldenglobes) or on the official website of the ceremony from 3 am French time, which will be updated in real time.
