


While the first seasons of the Netflix hit “The Crown” were still a history series about the younger Queen Elizabeth, the plot is now getting closer and closer to the present. It also means that grown-up William and Kate Middleton will soon be taking the stage – and cast members have now been signed to play these important characters for the sixth and final season. In the case of Prince William, there are even two actors who will play him at different ages.
Loud slip into the role of Prince William Variety 16-year-old Rufus Kampa and 21-year-old Ed McVey, while Meg Bellamy will play Kate Middleton. The three actors are all newcomers to the film and series business, which is why you haven’t seen them in other projects yet – but you can also see a picture in this gallery by Variety make:
After Claire Foy played Queen Elizabeth II in Seasons 1 and 2 and Olivia Colman in Seasons 3 and 4, Seasons 5 and 6 will see Imelda Staunton (Dolores Umbridge from “Harry Potter”) the main role. As Prince Philip, Jonathan Pryce is at her side. Prince William will also be seen in Season 5 – Senan West will then play Wiliam, who is around eleven years old. Fun fact: Shenan West is the son of Dominic West, who will play Prince Charles, William’s father, in the new seasons of The Crown.
Season 5 takes you back to the 1990s and thus in a very turbulent time for the British royals, who are increasingly in the focus of the tabloids. Elizabeth Debicki will be seen as Diana in Season 5, and Khalid Abdalla will play her boyfriend Dodi Al-Fayed. Season 6 should cover the late 1990s and early 2000s given the ages of the newly cast stars for William and Kate. Prince William was 15 years old when his mother died in 1997, and he met his future wife Kate in 2001 at St Andrew’s University in Scotland.
Season 5 of “The Crown” is coming to Netflix in November 2022, the exact date is not yet known.
