The other criterion, however, was that it had to be primarily about ghosts. We began to consider this criterion with The Fall of the House of the Usher, because his story was based on Poe. It’s not just a ghost story, and so there’s no haunting presence out there. Midnight Club has its own world too.” he replied.
There are no current plans for a third season of the series, which began in 2018 with “The Haunting of Hill House” and continued with “The Haunting of Bly Manor” in 2020, but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen at all. Flanagan stated that this door was always open, but they didn’t want to do it just to have it done.
