While season 2 of “Why Women Kill” will be broadcast in France on M6 from the beginning of January, the American platform Paramount + has just renewed the series of Marc Cherry (“Desperate Housewives”) for a season 3.

The heroines of Why Women Kill have not said their last word. Five months after the end of the broadcast of season 2 across the Atlantic, the American platform Paramount + has just renewed the series of Marc Cherry, the father of Desperate Housewives, for a season 3 whose number of episodes has not yet been clarified.

“Why Women Kill explores the complex lives of its female characters with style, charm, and dark humor that only Marc Cherry can deliver”, said Nicole Clemens, the director of the original series of Paramount +, in a statement relayed by Deadline, which accompanies the announcement of the renewal of the series.

“We are delighted that the audience for the series continues to grow, with the second season being ranked among the top 10 most viewed series on the platform. And we look forward to unveiling the new set of fascinating and outrageous characters to you. Marc Cherry has created when the series returns for a third season “.

It remains to be seen who will be the stars of this season 3, what will be the plot of this new batch, and when it will take place, since, as a reminder, each season of Why Women Kill tells a whole new story unrelated to the previous ones. If this is not the central theme, which brings together strong female characters in a universe made of murders, secrets, and revenge.

Season 2 is coming very soon on M6

And as good news never comes alone, French fans of the series will be happy to learn that season 2 will finally be broadcast on M6 from Thursday, January 6, 2022, in prime-time. Almost two years after the success of the first season on the Six, which was offered between March and May 2020, in full confinement.

For this second season, exit Ginnifer Goodwin, Lucy Liu, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and make way for Allison Tolman (Emergence, Fargo) and Lana Parrilla (Once Upon a Time), who play Alma and Rita, two very different women whose will follow fate in 1949, in an atmosphere reminiscent of Desperate Housewives.

Alma (Allison Tolman) is a reserved and optimistic housewife who has only one dream: to join a prestigious botany club where the most upscale women of her community meet. Unfortunately for her, the mother will have difficulty in being accepted by the members of the club and in particular by Rita (Lana Parrilla), the leader of this elitist group.

The latter, married to Carlo Castillo, a rich, Machiavellian, and elderly man, is waiting for only one thing: for her husband to die. To deceive her boredom, she entertains herself in the arms of a young aspiring actor lover. But when Alma discovers her husband Bertram’s terrible secret hobby, she will use this information to her advantage …

A season 2 to be discovered in January on M6, and already on the Salto platform, which offers all 10 episodes since this summer to its subscribers. While waiting for a third season, therefore, which should not arrive before 2022 or 2023 on Paramount + in the United States.
