Since last Thursday, M6 broadcasts season 2 of “Why Women Kill”. If none of the actors of season 1 appear in this new burst of episodes, one of the stars is related to one of the former protagonists.
M6 last Thursday kicked off the broadcast of season 2 of Why Women Kill, an anthology series created by Marc Cherry (Desperate Housewives). For this new salvo of episodes, change of casting since Lucy Liu, Ginnifer Goodwin and Kirby Howell-Baptiste give way to Allison Tolman and Lana Parrilla, who play for the occasion two protagonists who are opposed to everything.
If the first is shy, discreet and dreams of a better life, the second is a diamond eater who does not hesitate to cheat on her wealthy husband with Scooter, a young man played by Matthew Daddario. This name may also mean something to you since it is Alexandra Daddario’s brother who played Jane in the first season of Why Women Kill.
But contrary to what one might think, it is not the actress discovered in Percy Jackson and San Andreas who slipped to Marc Cherry the name of her brother. If Allison Tolman and Nick Frost were chosen by the creator from a long list of actors proposed by the studios, the others had to pass auditions.
And it was during one of them that Marc Cherry came across Matthew Daddario. “The casting director told me we have Alexandra’s brother [Daddario] who came to pass the auditions, he confided during a round table. And at the time I did not necessarily react. But he was very good, and very handsome too. This is how we chose it. ”
If Alexandra started her career at the age of 16 on the soap The Force of Destiny, Matthew, who is a year younger than her sister, made her debut at the age of 25 in the movie Breathe In. However, it is his role in the Shadowhunters series that allowed him to make a name for himself with the general public.
Marc Cherry therefore offered a role to two members of the Daddario siblings. But there is a third sister, Catharine, who has yet to pass her camera. And he is determined to remedy that: “I told Alexandra and Matthew that I was going to find a way for her to participate in season 3”. The appointment is made!
