Even more than previous episodes of House Of The Dragon, Episode 4 is all about truth, lies, and the gray area in between. With so many revelations, half-truths and white lies, it’s easy to lose track – and so in Episode 4 something may almost go unnoticed, who is actually responsible for Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock) being caught visiting a brothel with Daemon (Matt Smith) and her father Viserys (Paddy Considine) finding out about it. It’s a character just called the White Worm. But who is behind it?
The answer is simple: It’s Mysaria (Sonoya Mizuno)who has occasionally played a marginal role in the previous episodes and has developed from a prostitute to Daemon’s lover to a character who apparently now pulls the strings in the background.

HBO
Mysaria (Soyona Mizuno) is the White Worm.
The fact that Mysaria is the white worm from episode 4 already reveals it a look at the book “Fire and Blood” by George RR Martin, because in it Mysaria is also referred to as “Misere, the White Worm”.. However, that alone doesn’t mean much, after all, “House Of The Dragon” is partly a very loose adaptation and such details could well be different in the series.

However, we also see in “House Of The Dragon” that Mysaria is apparently the White Worm. You just have to take a closer look – there are three clear indications:
First: The arrangement of the scenes. Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) learns that a messenger is bringing news of the White Worm – and right in the next scene we see Mysaria.
Second: Mysaria’s clothing. But what is even more important is that Mysaria is wearing a white dress in this scene, which of course is also a pretty clear indicator. By the way, in the books she is called the “White Worm” because of her very light skin.
Third: the boy. All of this could certainly be dismissed, but there is one clue that makes it almost undeniable that Mysaria must be the White Worm: the same boy who sees Rhaenyra in the brothel and then approaches Otto appears in the scene with Mysaria and give her some coins. He probably received the money from Otto and is now passing it on to his mistress Mysaria.

It remains to be seen, however, whether Mysaria will continue to play such an important role in the upcoming episodes of “House Of The Dragon”. After all, she has only been seen sporadically so far and the character is not really developed, even though she is one of the main characters (!) of the series on paper. With Episode 4 the foundation for a bigger role was at least laid…
