After “Populaire” and “Les Traducteurs”, Régis Roinsard directs Romain Duris and Virginie Efira in “En attendant Bojangles”. A dramatic comedy that is revealed in a first trailer with sweet and intoxicating madness.
Régis Roinsard adapts bookstore success Waiting for Bojangles
That the program is pretty. Where do we start? The cast could not be more charming, with big names like Romain Duris, Virginie Efira and Grégory Gadebois. A staging a priori removed, to the rhythm of the dance on which the couple in the film love each other and live without constraints. Music, joy and screams, in indefinite and seductive places and times … These are the first images of Waiting for Bojangles, new film by director Régis Roinsard after Popular and Translators. This is the adaptation of a novel by Olivier Bourdeau released in 2016 and a great bookstore success.
Specifically, according to the official synopsis: Camille and Georges dance all the time to their favorite song Mr Bojangles. With them, there is only room for fun, fantasy and friends. Until the day when the mother goes too far, forcing Georges and their son Gary to do everything to avoid the inevitable at all costs.
A dreamy cinema couple
Dramatic comedy Waiting for Bojangles will be in theaters January 5, 2022, and the little information about it only feeds impatience. Based on the novel, Virginie Efira plays Camille, a passionate, whimsical woman, a charming and wacky personality, Georges, her writer husband and their child, played in the film by Solan Machado-Graner. Together they dance, so only care about pleasure and happiness, to the tune of Mr. Bojangles performed by Nina Simone, Camille’s favorite piece. A famous and melancholy track, absent from the trailer, which only amplifies the curiosity.
We are expecting another great performance from Virginie Efira, who is currently playing major roles. Just like for Romain Duris in particular on the poster ofEiffel and who will be one of the Three Musketeers in both films D’Artagnan and Milady future. Until then, can’t wait to lay your eyes on Waiting for Bojangles.
