“Bullet Train’ was one of the most anticipated films of the year for many action fans. Ladybug (Brad Pitt) is tired of his job as a professional killer, but still fills in for a supposedly routine job from a colleague. After all, the mission sounds relatively simple, so that everyone involved could survive for once: Because he is supposed to just swipe a suitcase on the high-speed train (Shinkansen) running between Tokyo and Kyoto. So far so good.
What Ladybug doesn’t know: The piece of luggage is in the care of the two professional killers Lemon (Brian Tyree Henry) and Tangerine (Aaron Taylor-Johnson). And as if that weren’t enough, there are also some other shady characters on board with the psychopath Prince (Joey King), the crime boss White Death (Michael Shannon) and the Mexican gangster Wolf (Bad Bunny) who have their own goals pursue – and willing to stop at nothing to reach them…
For the “must see for action fans” with plenty of “extremely brutal action”, as our critic Björn writes in the official DashFUN review, it got a good 3.5 out of a possible 5 stars in the end. The conclusion: “Bullet Train” is an immensely fun high-speed action ride with Brad Pitt in a brilliant mood, who, along with some superfluous CGI inserts, can be accused of celebrating his own coolness a little too much.
