It is a cinema project particularly followed within the French rap. The director Audrey Estrougo (You, me and the others) will return to the birth of the group NTM in her next film, Suprêmes. Filming begins on August 5, 2020, for a release currently announced during the year 2021. JoeyStarr and Kool Shen themselves are involved in this project which looks back on their journey. The challenge of such a feature film, however, lies in the choice of the two main actors.
But on Suprêmes, the resemblance between the actors and the people they play is disturbing. Théo Christine and Sandor Funtek have been chosen to play JoeyStarr and Kool Shen respectively. And they are not strangers to the public. Théo Christine has made several appearances on television, landing the role of Alexandre Delano in the series Skam. We saw it more recently in the France Television miniseries La last vague. For his part, Sandor Funtek, 30, has rather evolved in the world of cinema: we have seen him in The Life of Adele, Dheepan, K on the contrary or more recently in Adoration. To announce the two roles, JoeyStarr has also posed on his Instagram account with the two young actors.
Synopsis – At the beginning of the 1990s, in France, the suburbs were the scene of increasingly violent clashes with the police. JoeyStarr and Kool Shen, two young people living in Seine-Saint-Denis, use rap to express the anger of their generation. This duo will give birth to the group Suprême NTM.
