The fourth installment of the Hotel Transylvania franchise will not be hitting theaters. Amazon Prime Video took over the distribution rights.
Hotel Transylvania: Monster Changes, the fourth installment of the animated film franchise from Sony Pictures Animation, is indeed going to see some monster changes. First scheduled for a theatrical release on 1er October 2021, the film directed by Derek Drymon and Jennifer Kluska had a first postponement until December 22, 2021.
In April 2020, while the COVID-19 pandemic forced almost the entire planet to confine itself, we learn that the film’s release is brought forward this time to August 6, 2021. This is only the beginning of a series of twists and turns. Hotel Transylvania: Monster Changes has had its release date rescheduled several times.
But in August 2021, with the meteoric growth of the Delta variant in the United States, Sony decided to cancel the theatrical release of its film and entered into discussions to sell the distribution rights to a streaming platform. It is ultimately Amazon Prime Video which acquires these rights for an amount of $ 100 million.
It is from January 14 that we will be able to follow the adventures of Drac, Mavis, Johnny and company on Prime Video. In this new opus, Drac and his acolytes are the victims of an invention by Van Helsing and are transformed into humans! Except Johnny who is transformed into a dragon… and very happy to be.
Here they are in a frantic race to find their original appearance!
