After “Tomb Raider”, the director of “The Wave” returns with “Troll”, offered this time directly on Netflix. A fantastic film that could attract the most curious subscribers to the streaming platform.
The story of Troll…
The American Platform netflix is used to producing films and series of all nationalities. Here, with Troll, Norway is in the spotlight. A film that allows its director Roar Uthaug to return to a home production after his American experience on tomb Raider. This time, he signs a fantastic film on a well-known creature from Norse mythology: the trolls.
Far from the previous animation success The Trolls (2016) which exhibited cute little creatures, Troll confronts us with a monster of nature. The story takes place in Norway, in our contemporary era where tales and legends have been forgotten… But when an old volcano erupts, myths meet reality. A beast sleeping in the hollow of the mountain since the dawn of time finally wakes up. Men then find themselves in the hands of a monster of stone and earth.

The survival of humans in the face of nature
Directed by Norwegian Roar Uthaug, Troll takes up his favorite themes and genres: norse folklore (The Secret of the Blue Mountain), disaster (Dagmar – The soul of Vikings, The Wave) and stock (tomb Raider). Here, the new film takes the form of a metaphor of a world in decline… An immemorial colossus, symbol of the abandoned Earth, returns to take revenge on Humanity, which has forgotten him. To cope, men will call on science, via Nora (Ine Marie Wilmann), an archaeologist who will have to save Oslo from destruction…

It is therefore a brutal battle that is announced between the ancestral monster and the population of Norway. In the grip of the panic and at feeling of helplessnessshe will try to break through the mysteries of this fantastic being. It remains to be seen how the characters will fight this creature they thought was imaginary, and with what weapons…
Troll is to be discovered on the platform netflix since the 1st December.
