ENCANTO FILM. The Disney studios released their last animated film this Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Should we see encanto in the cinema? The opinion of critics.

[Mis à jour le 24 novembre 2021 à 9h35] Encanto: the fantastic Madrigal family is the first Animation Film Disney to be released in theaters since Frozen 2, not to mention Pixar co-productions. If some have gone through the streaming box and Disney ++ since the pandemic, this is the first time in two years that a production from Mickey’s studios is to be seen on the big screen. The public will be able to discover in cinemas the Madrigal family and their fantastic magical powers this Wednesday, November 24, 2021. The stakes are therefore high for the cartoon directed by Byron Howard and Jared Bush (Zootopia) and Charise Castro-Smith (The Death of Eva Sofia Valdez).

Overall, the first reviews seem conquered by the adventures of Mirabel in Encanto. If Les Inrocks is unimpressed by this “programmatic animated film with however a few touches of magic”, the 20-minute journalist is totally enchanted by the Disney feature film: “The magic is total in Encanto which also surprises by its plot tackles more serious subjects such as the traumas undergone by migrants or the weight of the obligations that a family can impose on its members “. Franceinfo welcomes for its part “a colorful and vitamin film”. This opinion is shared by Le Parisien, for whom Disney signs “a very beautiful animated feature film”: “The film weaves an epic and humorous plot in magical settings”, admits the journalist, who gives the beautiful 4/5 rating for the animated film. The perfect end of year movie for young and old.

With Encanto, young and old alike find themselves immersed in the heart of a magical city in Colombia, in which each member of the Madrigal family has a special gift. All of them, except Mirabel, the only ordinary in this extraordinary family. But despite her lack of gift, this heroine may well be the only one to save the magic of Encanto. Encanto is the product of the imagination of Byron Howard (Zootopia, Rapunzel), Charise Castro Smith (The Death of Eva Sofia Valdez) and Jared Bush (Zootopia, Vaiana). As was the case with Vaiana, it was Lin-Manuel Miranda, to whom we mainly owe the hit musical Hamilton, who signed the songs for this enchanting musical animated film.
