Vivo on Netflix: a colorful trailer for Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical

A music-loving kinkajou embarks on a thrilling adventure between Havana and Miami to deliver a love song in the name of an old friend and fulfill his destiny. This is the synopsis of Vivo, a new animated film that will make you want to dance and sing along.

Deprived of a theatrical release due to the global pandemic, Vivo was finally bought by Netflix outside of China. A godsend for this musical, at a time when cinemas are in lack of attendance.

Imagined by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, In The Heights / D’où one comes) who pitched the idea to DreamWorks in 2010, it was not until 2016 that the project was finally done. Vivo is co-directed by Kirk De Micco (The Croods) and Brandon Jeffords (Storm of Giant Dumplings 2). Miranda, who lends her voice in original version to the determined kinkajou, wrote 11 songs for the film.
