Less than a year after the end of Vikings, Netflix has just unveiled the trailer for the spin-off of the cult series. “Vikings: Valhalla” will be released on the streaming platform in a few months.

A new story 100 years after the events of the original series

In 2013, the first season of Vikings was going out on the chains History in Canada and the United States. The show started at the end of the 8thth century, in Scandinavia. We first followed the adventures of Ragnar Lodbrok, a young Viking warrior who decided to explore the west of his country of birth by sea, but also several characters based on real historical figures. The series was quickly praised for its historical veracity, and if the last seasons have been more criticized on this point of view, it has built a fan base solid.

Enough to push Jeb Stuart to create Vikings: Valhalla. This spin-off of the show imagined by Michael Hirst will take place one hundred years after the last events of the original series. He will make us follow the story descendants of the first Vikings. This time Netflix will offer Vikings: Valhalla. And the streaming giant has released the first images of this spin-off.

See you in 2022 for Vikings: Valhalla !

We discover in the first images of Vikings: Valhalla Leif Erikson, one of the most famous Icelandic explorers in history and the main character of this spin-off. Among the other major protagonists of the series, we will also follow the adventures of Freydis, Harald Harada and Guillaume Le Conquérant, other important figures of the period.

We also find in this trailer the atmosphere of the original series with images faithful to the aesthetic of Vikings. Fans of the latter will therefore no doubt be enthusiastic about the first trailer of this spin-off. It remains to be seen whether they will be seduced by the series itself.

In any case, it will be necessary to wait several months before being able to discover it. As the teaser indicates, Vikings: Valhalla will be released in 2022 on Netflix, without knowing the exact date for the moment.
