Less than a year after the end of Vikings, Netflix has just unveiled the trailer for the spin-off of the cult series. “Vikings: Valhalla” will be released on the streaming platform in a few months.
A new story 100 years after the events of the original series
In 2013, the first season of Vikings was going out on the chains History in Canada and the United States. The show started at the end of the 8thth century, in Scandinavia. We first followed the adventures of Ragnar Lodbrok, a young Viking warrior who decided to explore the west of his country of birth by sea, but also several characters based on real historical figures. We discover in the first images of Vikings: Valhalla Leif Erikson, one of the most famous Icelandic explorers in history and the main character of this spin-off. Among the other major protagonists of the series, we will also follow the adventures of Freydis, Harald Harada and Guillaume Le Conquérant, other important figures of the period.
We also find in this trailer the atmosphere of the original series with images faithful to the aesthetic of Vikings. Fans of the latter will therefore no doubt be enthusiastic about the first trailer of this spin-off. It remains to be seen whether they will be seduced by the series itself.
