Sony Pictures has just unveiled a new single from “Venom: Let There be Carnage”. The studio shares a short video that showcases Cletus Kasady’s first transformation into Carnage.
Venom 2 : the rest is precise
After the first film directed by Ruben Fleischer in 2018, and his $ 856 million in box office revenue, Sony has decided to start production of a sequel. But because of the disastrous reviews that accompanied the release of the first opus, the studio decided to part ways with Ruben Fleischer and replace him with Andy Serkis. The interpreter of Gollum is therefore responsible for directing Venom: Let There be Carnage.
This suite, expected on October 20, is still worn by Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams. The rest of the cast includes Stephen Graham, but mostly Woody Harrelson as the terrible Cletus Kasady. The latter is well known to readers of Marvel comics since he is the host of the terrible Carnage, a symbiote even more violent and wicked than Venom.
New extract
While he out this Friday, October 1 in the United States, Sony Pictures shared an unreleased clip from Venom: Let There be Carnage. The video in question reveals the transformation of Cletus Kasady into Carnage. The sequence takes place in the prison in which the dangerous serial killer is locked up. As he passes over the electric chair, Carnage saves Cletus from certain death. The two characters then escape from the prison. This scene seems in any case to confirm that Venom 2 will look a lot like the first game. Which is a bit unsettling. Why change the director if it is to reproduce the same narrative and visual scheme? Especially since the first opus is far from being unanimous among fans …

In the comics, Carnage first appeared in 1992. This powerful antagonist is created by David Michelinie and Mark Bagley. Son of Venom, Carnage has only one goal: death and destruction. He remains the most powerful symbiote in the entire Marvel Universe. And he is responsible for one of the first alliances between Spider-Man and Venom (of which he is the worst enemy). So, Andy Serkis will bring this explosive meeting to the big screen! And for those who can not wait until October 20 (release date in France), a preview of the film is scheduled for October 11 at the Grand Rex.
