For its first weekend of operation, Halloween Kills largely dominates the American box office, ahead of Dying Can Wait and Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
A little tour and then go! The last James Bond of the Daniel Craig era will only have remained at the top of the rankings for a week since he is already hunted by Halloween kills which marks an excellent start.
Even while also being offered on the Peacock streaming service, David Gordon Green’s film grossed $ 50.35 million, making it the best start for a horror film since the start of the pandemic (ahead of Sans a noise 2) but also the best start of the pandemic for an R-rated film, ahead of The Suicide Squad.
It is nevertheless a little worse than the previous part of the horrific franchise which had garnered 76.2 million for its weekend of release in 2018.
To die can wait moved to second place in the standings with 24.3 million additional greenbacks, a 56% drop compared to its first weekend. At the global box office, however, the feature film continues to impress: with $ 447.5 million raised, it already exceeds the Marvel Black Widow and Shang-Chi.
In the last place of the podium, Venom: Let There Be Carnage now cumulates $ 168.1 million thanks to the 16.5 million this weekend. A score very similar to that of the first Venom over the same period.
At last, The Last Duel of Ridley Scott, who marks the reunion of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in front and behind the camera, disappoints with just $ 4.82 million in revenue for its first weekend.
