We were impatiently awaiting it and it is finally here: the trailer for “Uncharted” with Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, to be discovered in France on July 14, 2021.
Uncharted: he is treasure, my lord
Uncharted is a series of video games developed by Sony. The first one came out in 2007, without really doing much to talk about him. It was indeed the second episode that really kicked off a planetary enthusiasm for this saga in the making. It must be said that this suite put the small dishes in the big ones. She infused the adventure genre a cinematic breath rarely seen in a video game. To date, more than 41 million players have enjoyed the adventures featuring Nathan Drake, treasure hunter with a thrilling fate still supported by Sully, his old friend and mentor.
The Uncharted Movie: The Curse Ends
Make a film of the saga Uncharted makes sense so much the games have made the effort to mimic this medium. This project has been announced from the release of the second emblematic episode in … 2010 ! Mark Wahlberg had even been announced in the lead role. Behind, we find all the ingredients of the cursed project since directors David O. Russell, Seth Gordon, Joe Carnahan, Shawn Levy, Dan Trachtenberg and Travis Knight succeeded each other for a decade at the head of the project without ever launching the production.
And then the thinning in the middle of the storm: Ruben Fleischer (welcome to Zombieland, Venom) puts the house in order and filming finally begins in 2020. Small change in casting to note, it is Tom Holland who now plays Nathan Drake and, ironically, Wahlberg who plays Sully.
If a younger version of the main character may surprise, part of the third game precisely featured a young Nathan explaining the circumstances in which he met Sully. The film will therefore be inspired by it, as we have seen in the first images.
Finally a first trailer
Today we finally laid our eyes on the first trailer of the film and it announces heavy! If you are fond of video games, you will certainly have noticed that it contains a direct reference to Uncharted 3. Indeed, one can discover Tom Holland trying to go up a trail of cargoes ejected from a cargo plane.
Uncharted is due in our theaters on February 16, 2022.
