A THIRD WITNESS TO THE SIGNIFICANT CASE FINDS DEATH
At the station, Maryline tells Alex of her fears about the threatening letters received by several witnesses in the Lila Marquant case. While trying to understand why the police do nothing to identify the raven, Alex reports that only the prosecution is empowered to decide whether or not to open an investigation.
Several kilometers away, Colette Genton is worried to see her husband go hunting, knowing that many witnesses to the Marquant affair have lost their lives. Despite everything, Bernard has no desire to give in to fear and leaves the family home. When he then eats lunch under a tree in the middle of the forest, an individual comes to meet him. A few moments later, a shot rang out.
Later, Colette, terrified of not having any news from her husband, calls the police but Elise tells her that she can’t do anything for the moment. Warned by Maryline of the situation, Akim and Alex go to the Brichet ponds. If the police hope to find Bernard safe and sound, the latter unfortunately lost his life with a bullet in the heart.
ELIZABETH TAKES OVER THE DIRECTORATE OF L. COSMETICS
In the morning, Elizabeth receives a call from Julien who is off the coast of Morocco. Happy to hear it, she explains to him that Judge Alphand has reclassified his accusation as an accessory to murder and that Guilhem is moving heaven and earth to ensure that he is cleared. Julien then takes the opportunity to thank his mother and stepfather for the risks they took in helping him escape. Before he hangs up, Elizabeth asks him to take care of himself and keep hope, certain that one day he will be able to return to Montpellier.
For their part, the employees of L. Cosmetics received an email from Elizabeth informing them that she will come by during the day to speak to them. In order to show him that they knew how to take charge in the absence of the boss, Gary asks his colleagues to prepare a complete overview of their service. If they find the idea brilliant, Berthier and Enric quickly understand that Maryline’s son is trying to place himself as number two in the box.
In the afternoon, Elizabeth brings together the employees of L. Cosmetics and indicates that she takes over the management of the company on an interim basis until her son returns. When Gary requests a meeting with her to introduce her to the different branches of the company, she specifies that she prefers to meet each department manager in due time.
To reassure her new team, Elizabeth later tells Myriam that her presence is only temporary. Since it will not be easy for her to manage this crisis if the employees do not trust her, the businesswoman needs an ally. Having full confidence in Myriam, Elizabeth lets her know that she has a great future within the company.
At the same time, Johanna confides in Sabine about her desire to set up her own law firm. While she is afraid of having done something stupid by leaving her uncle, Sabine assures her otherwise and encourages him to go for it. At the end of the day, Myriam and Claire go to see Violette, an elderly lady at the end of her life whom the nurse takes care of.
