The Spanish television channel Astresmedia has announced the preparation of a sequel to the famous Spanish series which aired in the early 2000s. This is good news for fans, since some key characters should be there.
Almost twenty years after its launch, the Spanish series Un, Dos, Tres, which brightened up the afternoons of viewers in the early 2000s on M6, will soon be entitled to a reboot!
Composed of six seasons, the series, centered on the scenes of a performing arts academy, followed the daily life of Lola (Beatriz luengo), Roberto (Miguel Ángel Muñoz), Silvia (Mónica cruz), Pedro (Pablo Puyol) and Ingrid (Silvia marty) in their learning, but also in their love affairs.
In a tweet published on the account of the Spanish channel Atresmedia on December 13, we learn that a new original series following on from Un, Dos, Tres is in preparation. Entitled UPA Next (for “Un Paso Adelante”, the original title of the series), this sequel promises to “reopen the door of the Carmen Arranz academy“by taking again the universe of the original series and”some of his most iconic characters.“
Could we see part of the original cast appear in this reboot alongside a new generation of students and teachers? On their Instagram account, actresses Beatriz Luengo and Mónica Cruz shared the reboot announcement …
“Un, Dos, Tres is coming back! How happy I am to be able to share this great news with all of you! It’s finally official, and I couldn’t be happier! We are back !” commented the interpreter of Silvia.
UPA Next should arrive on screens in 2022 in Spain. It remains to be seen whether the series will be purchased by a French channel by then … In the meantime, academics nostalgic Carmen Arranz can rediscover the six seasons of the cult series on the SALTO platform.
