The sequel to Tyler Rake, Netflix’s action blockbuster starring Chris Hemsworth, looks very different from the first installment. At least from a geographic point of view. The actor himself announced the start of filming. Change of scenery.
Tyler Rake 2 has just entered filming, and Chris Hemsworth – who plays the disillusioned mercenary – posted a video on the Russo Brothers’ Instagram account, the film’s producers. The change of atmosphere contrasts singularly with the first film. Posted on the catwalk of a moving train in the Prague area, the actor stands next to director Sam Hargrave.
“First day of shooting of Extraction 2“Says the actor in the video, Extraction being the film’s original title.”Two things are different from the last movie. A: very, very cold. Two: I’m alive. How? ‘Or’ What ? You will have to find out by watching the movie. Stay tuned“he continues as it seems to be freezing cold in the Czech Republic right now.
A first teaser, released last September, confirmed the presence of Chris Hemsworth in this sequel. Not much is yet known about the story and especially, as the star recalls in the video, how Tyler Rake survived the gunshot wounds that threw him into the river that runs through Dhaka.
The first film premiered in the spring of 2020 on Netflix and quickly became one of the streamer’s biggest hits. Starring Chris Hemsworth, Rudhraksh Jaiswal, Randeep Hooda, Golshifteh Farahani, Pankaj Tripathi and David Harbor, Tyler Rake allowed director Sam Hargrave to establish himself as an aspiring star of the action genre with some impressive sequences that left an impression on audiences.
The escape and car chase scene, shot in an 18-minute sequence shot, was a real technical feat and amazed many. In addition, the brutality and emotion of the final scene on the bridge over the river also made an impression. It is on the side of the scenario that Tyler Rake sinned on the other hand. Hopefully this sequel will elevate the story to the same level as its action scenes.
