Tesla boss Elon Musk will not look back on the takeover of Twitter. He sent a message to make things clear.
Elon Musk buys Twitter to help the whole planet
Elon Musk will no longer change his mind and is in the process of finalizing the takeover of Twitter. While waiting to complete the paperwork, he published a very long tweet to justify himself. So why spend around $44 billion on this acquisition? “For the future of humanity”.
I wanted to speak to you personally to share my motivations for acquiring Twitter. There’s been a lot of speculation about why I bought Twitter and what I think about advertising. Most of them are fake.
The reason I bought Twitter is that it is important for the future of civilization to have a common digital public square, where a wide range of beliefs can be debated in a healthy way, without resorting to violence . There is currently a great danger that social networks will split into far-right and far-left echo chambers that generate more hatred and divide our society.
In their relentless quest for clicks, most mainstream media has fed and nurtured these polarized extremes, because they think that’s what makes money, but in doing so, they lose the opportunity for dialogue.
That’s why I bought Twitter. I didn’t do it because it was easy or to make more money. I did it to try to help humanity, which I love. And I do so with humility, recognizing that failure to pursue this goal, despite our best efforts, is a very real possibility.
That said, it is obvious that Twitter cannot become a zone of hell where everything can be said without consequences! In addition to respecting the laws of the country, our platform must be warm and welcoming for all, where you can choose the experience you want according to your preferences, just as you can choose, for example, to see films or playing video games ranging from any age to maturity.

It is surprising to see his speech vis-à-vis the far right when he had in mind to rehabilitate Donald Trump’s account as quickly as possible. The former president of the United States known among other things for his misogineous and racist outings. The billionaire, while still in office, had galvanized his far-right sympathizers for the attack on the Capitol.
Has Elon Musk also changed his mind on this point? Will he clean up the social network of nauseating comments?
Layoffs? fake news!
According to Elon Musk, the rumor concerning the dismissal of 75% of the employees of the social network is false. According to The Washington Post, the boss of SpaceX would still intend to lay off a large number of employees, a quarter by the end of 2023.
