After having paid Johnny Depp, Brian Cox was much more kind to Brad Pitt. Indeed, on the set of “Troy”, a film in which he plays Agamemnon, the actor of “Succession” says he was captivated by the Hollywood icon.
Brian Cox remembers Troy
We had noticed that Brian Cox was not tender towards Johnny Depp, dropping strong spikes in his memoirs. And conversely, another Hollywood star attracts the graces of the actor of Succession, in the person of Brad Pitt. The two men are indeed from the flamboyant cast of Troy, released in 2004 and directed by Wolfgang Petersen. A monumental peplum to tell the story of the Trojan War, with Brad Pitt as Achilles and Brian Cox as Agamemnon.
Very great commercial success, it however attracts mixed reviews, particularly concerning the weak emotion generated and the complexity of the character of Achille which was not necessary. But in any case, the actor’s performance delighted his colleague Brian Cox and more precisely its appearance.
“Brad Pitt was superb, so beautiful!”
We don’t know what Brian Cox thinks of Brad Pitt’s talent as an actor, but what is certain is that in terms of “plastic”, he still seems to have not recovered. This is how he says in an interview with Vanity Fair, where he looks back on his career and how many of his roles. The time has come to approach Troy (at 11’37 in the video), he is thus moved by the memory of the vision of Brad Pitt in uniform.
After declaring that it was the role of his career that he had really fought for, considering himself perfect to play King Agamemnon, he quickly comes to his admiration for Brad Pitt.
He had never been in costumes like that. (…) Brad came forward and I was speechless as he was magnificent. I mean, I’m heterosexual, but I thought, “Wow, my God, this guy is really great! Who’s lucky enough to be on screen with this gorgeous, gorgeous man?”
Coming from an actor who is not afraid to offend anyone and who is easy to talk about, as much to say that this compliment counts triple!
