Home cinema owners know the problem: The latest blockbuster like “Top Gun 2: Maverick” is just about to hit its peak when the Wi-Fi signal fails. The notorious loading symbol spoils the film and with it the whole evening.
But that doesn’t have to be the case, because there are now suitable solutions to the problem. These are called Powerline Adapters and offer high-speed Internet from the socket.
The installation is very easy:
- Connect a powerline adapter to the modem using a LAN cable and plug it into a socket.
- Plug a second powerline adapter into a socket near your TV or streaming device and connect it with a LAN cable.
You have already created the conditions for trouble-free streaming and you can expand your network as you like with additional adapters. Many Powerline devices also offer a WLAN function so that you can use the adapter as a hotspot for your smartphone. Here are the best power line adapters with WiFi for your home cinema.
If you already own a FritzBox, the Powerline adapters from AVM are the perfect choice for you. This set includes two adapters – one with and one without a socket. With a LAN speed of up to 1,200 MBit/s, the devices offer the ideal basis for fast streaming. For the starter set with two adapters you currently pay almost 160€.

Incidentally, powerline adapters from different manufacturers can be easily combined with one another. This is made possible by the HomePlug standard, which is supported as standard in today’s power line adapters.
Another important note: The devices can hardly keep up with the transmission speeds specified by the manufacturers. In practice, the values are significantly lower, but are still completely sufficient for maximum 4K enjoyment.
