After “Tête de turc” (2010) and “I am counting on you” (2015), Pascal Elbé unveils his third feature film as director and screenwriter, “We are made to get along”. This romantic comedy is freely inspired by the life of Pascal Elbé.
After a remarkable stint at the Angoulême Francophone Film Festival, where the film – out of competition – received a warm welcome from the public, On est fait pour s’entendre unveils its first images.
This 3rd feature film by Pascal Elbé, after Tête de turc (2010) and I count on you (2015), is a romantic comedy freely inspired by a handicap, a beginning of deafness, which struck the filmmaker and which the latter has wanted to tell with humor and lightness, by surrounding himself with a wide cast, ranging from Sandrine Kiberlain, to Emmanuelle Devos, via Valérie Donzelli, or even François Berléand. Pascal Elbé, both screenwriter and director of the film, also plays the main role.
The pitch looks like this. Antoine, in his fifties, discovers that he has lost a lot of hearing. Not accepting his handicap, this history teacher has resigned himself to living in his bubble, even if it means arousing the incomprehension of those around him. His meeting with Claire, widow and mother of a mutic little girl will push him to open up to the world …
On est fait pour accord will be released on November 17, 2021 in theaters.
