DOWNTON ABBEY 2 FILM. Downton Abbey: A New Era is the second film transposition of the cult British series. A trailer and first photos have been shared.

Downton abbey 2 will be released in French theaters on March 16, 2022, Universal Pictures has announced. For the occasion, first images as well as a trailer of this second sequel to the cult series Downton Abbey have been shared. On these first images, we discover the marriage of Tom Branson, who married Lucy Smith as a second wedding several years after Sybil’s death. This second film will also be an opportunity to learn more about the past of Lady Violet, played by Maggie Smith: the latter seems to have inherited, from a former lover, a villa in the south of France . The opportunity for the Crawley family to visit French lands.
The full synopsis for Downton Abbey 2: A New Era has yet to be made official. This will take place at the end of the 1920s, after the events of the first feature film released in 2019, namely the visit of the King and Queen of England to the Crawleys’ home. In the casting, we must find in the cast the main actors of the series, such as Maggie Smith, Michelle Dockery or Hugh Bonneville, but also new faces: Hugh Dancy, Dominic West, Laura Haddock and the Frenchwoman Nathalie Baye were announced by Universal Pictures. However, it will be necessary to wait for the release of the film to find out what their roles will be and what impact they will have on the Crawley family and their employees.

Which actors in the cast of Downton Abbey 2?
Universal Pictures has announced that the entire Downton Abbey main cast will be back in this sequel. New names have also been announced, and not least: Hugh Dancy (Hannibal), Laura Haddock (Transformers: The Last Knight) and Dominic West (The Affair, The Crown) are part of the cast of Downton Abbey 2. Note also the presence in the casting of the French actress Nathalie Baye (Juste la fin du monde, Sauve qui peut, Le Petit lieutenant), in a role for the moment unknown. What release date for Downton Abbey 2?
Originally scheduled for the end of 2021, Downton Abbey 2 will ultimately not be released this year and fans will therefore have to be patient before discovering the rest of the intrigues of the Crawley family and their servants. Universal Pictures has so far dated the film’s release at March 16, 2022. The feature film must be released only in cinemas in France.
