“Parks and Recreation” star Aubrey Plaza takes the lead role in the movie.
Vertical Entertainment and Roadside Attractions have released the trailer for “Emily the Criminal,” the crime thriller movie starring Aubrey Plaza. The film, which had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and received great acclaim, was also rated as the best performance of Aubrey Plaza’s career.
“Emily the Criminal” follows a woman named Emily who is deeply in debt. Trying to find a job as soon as possible to pay off her student debt, Emily cannot step into the corporate business world due to a small criminal record in her past. Unable to find any other way out in this situation, Emily joins an underground crime gang and starts committing credit card fraud.
Accompanying Aubrey Plaza in the film, which is John Patton Ford’s feature-length screenwriting and directing debut, are Theo Rossi, Megalyn Echikunwok, Gina Gershon, Jonathan Avigdori and Bernardo Badillo.
The trailer for “Emily The Criminal” also showcases Plaza’s expanded range as an actress attempting the opposite of the comedy roots for which she is famous. Known for productions such as “Parks and Recreation”, “Safety Not Guaranteed”, “Ingrid Goes West”, Aubrey Plaza looks unusually tough and dangerous this time.
