The first trailer and official poster of the series were shared.
Peacock has released a new trailer and poster for The Resort, the upcoming series starring Cristin Milioti and William Jackson Harper as a couple grappling with an unexpected, timeless mystery. The series will follow a couple who begin to investigate the mystery of two young guests who disappeared fifteen years before their arrival. In the trailer, Emma (Milioti) and Noah (Harper) appear as a couple who decide to take a vacation to celebrate their tenth anniversary.
To escape from the routine and reflect on their relationship and how they became people over time, the couple hides in a beach resort for a week. The couple, without any worries, just want to drink fancy cocktails, jog on the sand, spend some time in the pool and perhaps release all the tension they’re carrying on their shoulders. However, when Emma gets into a minor car accident, she uncovers a cell phone belonging to Sam (Skyler Gisondo), a young man who disappeared 15 years ago in an idyllic place. While searching her cell phone, Emma learns that Sam has disappeared after checking in with her family and girlfriend for Christmas. Like a girl who disappeared at the same time as him, Sam wasn’t the only one who disappeared. Years later, no one knows what happened to them, and Emma is determined to figure it out.
The curious thing about the trailer is that Emma seems bored with her own life. That’s why he seems to lean too much into mystery to find an excuse to escape the routine. Noah is dragged into the investigation to find the answers his wife desperately needs. But the trailer also shows that facility staff may be keeping a close eye on Emma and her husband. Along with the trailer, the official poster has also been released. In the poster, Emma and Noah are at the center of a road to the resort. But the road seems to bend over the couple, as if the past insists on returning to haunt the present. On the road, we can also see the silhouettes of two people who disappeared years ago.
The Resort also includes Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation). Andy Siara (Palm Springs) serves as showrunner, along with Allison Miller (Angelyne). The duo is also writing and producing the series. The first three episodes of The Resort arrive at Peacock on July 28. From now on, new episodes will be available on the broadcast platform on a weekly basis, every Thursday.
