Christophe Barratier makes the cicadas sing in this new adaptation of Pagnol. Check out the trailer for the sequel to My Father’s Glory and My Mother’s Castle.
32 years after My Father’s Glory and My Mother’s Castle, directed by Yves Robert and produced by Claude Berri, the continuation of Marcel Pagnol’s childhood memories is finally adapted to the cinema.
Christophe Barratier (The Choristers, The War of the Buttons) takes over this third part, The Time of Secrets. This sequel, which we were able to discover in preview at Alpe d’Huez, in a special screening, is in line with previous adaptations: a sunny, family film that respects the work of Pagnol, while not hesitating to take liberties in the adaptation.
Discover the trailer, while waiting for the release set for March 23, 2022 at the cinema.
Note that an exceptional outing will take place from March 16 in Marseille, in the Bouches-Du-Rhône and the Vaucluse
The synopsis is as follows: Marseilles, July 1905. The young Marcel Pagnol has just completed his primary studies. In three months, he will enter “high school”. Three months… an eternity when you’re that age. Because it’s vacation time, the real ones, the big ones! A child of the city, this long-awaited return to his dear hills of Aubagne and Allauch, those of “My Father’s Glory” and “My Mother’s Castle” transports him with happiness. There he rediscovers nature, the great outdoors and above all his friend Lili, always ready to share new adventures, at the age when the time of carelessness gives way to that of secrets.
Le Temps des secrets is directed by Christophe Barratier, with Guillaume De Tonquédec, Mélanie Doutey, François-Xavier Demaison…
