Despite the halt to many filming due to the pandemic, the series are resisting and the main actors still have a lot to offer in June. We take stock of new products and current series to be discovered on Netflix, Canal +, OCS, Amazon or which will debut in the US.
Alex rider – from June 4 on Amazon
The story : The adventures of teenage spy Alex Rider, who is forced to infiltrate a correctional school for high society children that seems to be hiding dark secrets …
Why watch: The novels Alex rider had already given rise to a first film adaptation in 2006. We are therefore curious to see if the serial format will allow us to get even closer to the work of Anthony Horowitz.
13 Reasons Why season 4 – from June 5 on Netflix
The story : As the end of high school looms on the horizon, Clay and his friends struggle to stay one step ahead as secrets from their past threaten their future.
Why watch: Because season 4 of 13 Reasons Why will be the last of Netflix’s flagship show. If the series has had its ups and downs, the end will necessarily be eagerly awaited.
the President – from June 5 on Amazon
The story : The FIFA corruption case, also known as Fifagate, approached through a small Chilean football club president who comes out of the shadows and finds himself involved in a fraudulent conspiracy of 150 million dollars.
Why watch: El Presidente’s approach is particularly interesting because it will deal with a major scandal in the world of football but through a small club, making the problem more concrete, on a local scale.
Love victor – from June 19 on Hulu (US)
The story : Victor, a high school student who has just entered Creekwood High School, hides a secret: he is gay. In the midst of questioning, he decides to turn to Simon in the hope that the latter, who has experienced the same anxieties as him before, will manage to help him navigate the troubled waters of adolescence.
Why watch: Simply because it is the serial spin-off of the film Love simon. This one having been very well received, it gives good hopes for Love victor.
Perry mason – from June 21 on OCS
The story : 1932, Los Angeles. As the rest of the country recovers from the Great Depression, the city is booming. Oil, Olympic Games, evangelical fervor! But when the case of the decade arrives on Perry Mason’s desk, the young lawyer will embark on a quest for the truth that will reveal the fractures of the City of Angels. And at the same time to pave the way for Mason’s own redemption …
Why watch: Originally Perry Mason was a particularly long-form CBS forensic series (seasons averaging 30 52-minute episodes). HBO has taken over the character but by tightening the format on a mini-series that promises to be dark and intriguing.
Doom Patrol – from June 25 on HBO Max (US)
The story : New adventure for members of the Doom Patrol, angry and far from perfect superheroes.
Why watch: Because the first season of Doom Patrol, broadcast in France on SyFy, had been a real success. It is therefore logical to follow the rest, hoping for a quick arrival in France.
The Twilight Zone season 2 – from June 26 on MyCanal
The story : A new version of the mythical anthology series The Fourth Dimension (1959-1964), which once again plunges us into supernatural, strange and distressing stories.
Why watch: A little like Perry mason, The Twilight Zone dusted off an old series like it should be thanks to Jordan Peele. The first season was pretty good overall, so hopefully the next fantastic stories that will be told manage to captivate.
Dark season 3 – from June 27 on Netflix
The story : A missing child sets off four families on a desperate quest for answers. The culprit hunt brings out the sins and secrets of a small town. Season 3 of Dark will be the last.
Why watch: Less known than 13 Reasons Why, Dark is however one of the very good programs of Netflix. And it too will have to end this year, since season 3 will be the last. A simple but obvious reason to follow the show when it is posted on the platform.
