Season 5 of “Tomorrow belongs to us”, marked very soon by the 1000th episode of the series, begins tonight on TF1. With the arrival of a new collection manager and a new quality of image and quite striking realization.
Nice audience success for more than four years now on TF1, Tomorrow belongs to us, which gave birth last year to a spin-off, Here everything begins, will enter its fifth season this evening. With as a starting point a new disaster plot centered on a hostage-taking which should keep fans in suspense until the 1000th episode of the series, scheduled for August 26, and which will claim the life of one of the historical characters of the program.
But this season 5 is also marked by many changes, both in front of and behind the camera. On the plot side, some characters have said their farewells, such as Lou (Rani Bheemuck) or Souleymane (Dembo Camilo). And others should in turn soon leave Sète, like Sandrine (Juliette Tresanini) and Morgane (Marie Catrix), who will start a new life in Guadeloupe.
To compensate for these departures, the writers of Tomorrow Belongs to Us are preparing to introduce into the soap opera a slew of new characters who will be played by Charlotte Gaccio, who will join the adventure this Wednesday, August 18 in the role of Audrey Roussel, but also by Emmanuel Moire, Jennifer Lauret, Xavier Deluc, Victoria Abril, or Alexandre Varga, to name a few.
This revival, which will be accompanied by a new credits and original sets, such as that of the Agnès Varda high school, of which Chloé will become the principal, is in part the fruit of the arrival of Marc Kressmann as the new showrunner of the soap opera.
Passed in particular by Candice Renoir and Munch, on whom he worked as artistic producer and writing director, Marc Kressmann succeeds Eric Fuhrer, the previous collection director of Demain belongs to us (who continues to hold this position on Here everything begins), and now has the task of revitalizing the series led by Ingrid Chauvin and Alexandre Brasseur.
And fans of Tomorrow belongs to us will not have long to wait before discovering big news on the screen since, from this evening, the series will be almost completely new for the launch of its season 5. Indeed, from the firsts images of episode 992, offered this Monday August 16 at 7:10 p.m. on TF1, viewers may well be surprised and not fully recognize their favorite series.
As Hector Langevin told us a few weeks ago as part of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, the production has decided to give a boost, even a facelift, to the series by focusing on “new image quality, new lenses, and a new way of filming”.
As a result, the way the series is produced has changed and the rendering of Tomorrow’s image is no longer the same and is now closer to prime-time series, with in particular more movements in the production and a different image format (as evidenced by the black bands that some people are sure to notice today at the top and bottom of the image).
A quality of image and production that is basically similar to what France 2 has been offering with Un Si Grand Soleil for three years now and which should help Tomorrow belongs to us to start a new chapter in its history. A necessary renewal, when we see how much the soap opera suffered in recent months from the comparison with Here everything begins which, in terms of production, credits, or plot, has inevitably given a little bit of old to its big sister .
