


Streaming service Crunchyroll announced today knownthat an anime adaptation of »Tomo-chan Is A Girl!« (Japanese: »Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko!«) is currently in the works and will be simulcast from January 2023. You can see a first trailer further down in this article.

»Tomo-chan Is A Girl!« is being directed by Hitoshi Nanba (»Golden Kamuy«) at Studio Lay-duce. Noriko Hashimoto acts as assistant director, while Megumi Shimizu (»Banished from the Hero’s Party«) takes on the series composition. Shiori Hiraiwa is responsible for the character design and Masaru Yokoyama (»Horimiya«) is responsible for the musical accompaniment.
It stars Rie Takahashi (Megumin in KonoSuba) as Tomo Aizawa, Kaito Ishikawa (Naofumi in Shield Hero) as Junichirou Kubota, Rina Hidaka (Filo in Shield Hero) as Misuzu Gundou, and Sally Amaki (Sakura in »22/7«) as Carol Olston.
The series is based on the manga series of the same name by Fumita Yanagida, which was released in Japan between April and July 2019. In this country, the work is not yet available in German.

Tomboy high school student Aizawa Tomo finally manages to tell her childhood friend Jun that she has a crush on him. Unfortunately, her confession passes him by – he didn’t even know she was a girl until junior high, and even now, Jun still thinks she’s a boy! How can Tomo-chan convince him otherwise and win Jun’s heart?
