Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarie started working on new film projects.
“Top Gun: Maverick”As the film continues to rise successfully past a billion dollars at the global box office, the brains behind the film, actor Tom Cruise and writer Christopher McQuarrie, are making new plans to entertain the audience. According to Deadline, the duo began preparations for three very different film projects.
One of the projects will be a musical film featuring original songs and dance styles. Another project of the duo, which started their partnership with the films of the “Mission is Danger” series, is an action movie that has the potential to turn into a series in the future. The third project will focus on the character of Les Grossman, played by Tom Cruise in the 2008 movie “Tropic Thunder”. The scripts of the films will be penned by Christopher McQuarrie.
It is quite intriguing that Tom Cruise, which we have seen mostly in action movies, will play in a musical, but this new movie will not be the actor’s first entry into the musical genre. The actress previously sang several rock and roll classics as Stacee Jaxx in the film adaptation of “Rock of Ages” and gave an acclaimed performance.
Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise are currently filming “Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two,” the 8th movie in the Mission Impossible franchise. There were rumors that this would be Tom Cruise’s farewell to the series, but McQuarrie hinted in a recent interview that Cruise will continue to portray the character of Ethan Hunt.
