At the end of the trailer forThor 4: Love And Thunder” follows the obligatory gag, this time involving the bare bottom of the hero, played again by Chris Hemsworth. But it’s not the scene that most MCU fans are talking about. Because a short action scene around Jane (Natalie Portman) and the hammer Mjölnir she wields ensures the greatest ecstasy.
As is well known, Mjölnir was in “Thor 3: Day of Decision” by Hela (Cate Blanchett) – and shattered into many small pieces. Jane somehow managed to put the hammer back together. But the cracks are still clearly visible – and the splinters also have a meaning.
Then as a brief action scene illustrates, Jane can send these shards one at a time to take out various enemies – and then the hammer reassembles. Fans are celebrating this move on Twitter.
The hammer is just one of the many mysteries surrounding Jane’s return. How is she too Thor become? Where has she been for so long? Might we even see two different versions of Jane in the trailer?
