There are several hints and anyone who knows the origins of “Jurassic World 3” can clearly make the connection: The comedy “The Bubble” refers to the chaotic turning of the upcoming dinosaur blockbuster.
When director Colin Trevorrow and his stars began filming “Jurassic World 3: A New Age” at the end of February 2020, the outbreak of the corona pandemic was already known, but the global effects were still largely underestimated – and that’s how it happened, that the production of the blockbuster, originally scheduled for June 2021, had to be radically changed just a few weeks after the start, to the surprise of many involved.
Corona intervened
Similar to “Mission: Impossible 7” with Tom Cruise, security measures were implemented, including 40,000 corona tests and the formation of a “bubble”. The stars around Chris Pratt and the franchise returnees Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum were shielded from contacts, filming had to be interrupted several times due to corona outbreaks and like the magazine colliders found out Reports about the abstruse situations during “Jurassic World 3” shooting reached comedy director Judd Apatow, who immediately hit the keys and wrote the screenplay for the new Netflix comedy “The Bubble”.
Lots of references to Jurassic World 3
We can’t tell how accurately “The Bubble” reflects the situation (the comedy involves drug binges and attempted escapes from the set), which are innuendos – at least to those in the know – but obvious. The Bubble directs a blockbuster dinosaur called Cliff Beasts 6 (Jurassic World 3 is the sixth film in the franchise) and is directed by The Bubble, which shares an indie background with Colin Trevorrow and Leslie Mann and David Duchovny plays an ex-couple who are now being quarantined together — “Jurassic World 3” stars Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum were also a couple.
Jurassic World 3 hits theaters on June 9th, 2022 and is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Time will tell whether the shooting was really anywhere near as dramatic as that in “The Bubble”, the presentation of the film reminded us more of chaotic shootings like the one for “Fantastic Four”. Nevertheless, an official statement by Sam Neill at the end of filming suggests an experience that was at times very uncomfortable. His farewell message, which was released with a set picture, reads: “There were days when we thought we might not make it.”
