American actor Will Smith has just revealed which film he prefers in his filmography, but also which he considers the worst. Verdict?
When Will Smith takes a critical look at his own filmography. At the microphone of GQ, the American star judges as well as his two best films are, ex aequo, the first installment of the Men in Black and In Search of Happiness saga, a big blockbuster, huge global box office success, and an intimate drama that earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. “For various reasons, these two films are in my eyes almost perfect”, considers the actor.
More amusing, Will Smith also reveals for GQ which of his films is, in his eyes, … the worst! Verdict? The comedy Wild Wild West, released in theaters in 1999 and in which he co-starred with Kevin Kline. “This movie is just a thorn in the side”, laughs the actor. “Seeing me in leather leggings … I don’t like it.”
The western Wild Wild West, a relative failure at the American box office with only 114 million dollars in receipts, had been freshly received by the critics. He had notably been nominated eight times for the Razzie Awards, the famous “ceremony of the worst”. Note, however, that Wild Wild West had allowed Will Smith to achieve great musical success with the eponymous song, interpreted by him.
Will Smith, who could soon reprise his character from Deadshot in a new Suicide Squad, will be showing next December 1 by La Method Williams. A feature film in which he plays the father of tennis players Serena and Venus Williams.
