In the last episode of season 2 of The Witcher, viewers were finally able to discover the identity of the one who calls himself Emhyr. And it is THE big bad of the saga if we believe the showrunneuse. Warning for spoilers.
This article obviously contains revelations on the last episode of season 2. Go your way if you have not seen it.
Season 2 of The Witcher, of a better caliber than the first, was rich in revelations about Ciri, the White Flame, the comeback of the Elves and the discovery of the one behind Emhyr, the Emperor of Nilfgaard who is waging war against the North.
The great villain of the series is none other than Duny (Bart Edwards), Cirilla’s father… We do not yet know how the man passed himself off as dead but we understand why he is desperately trying to get his hands on the heiress of Cintra.

Emhyr’s identity finally revealed!
This revelation from season 2 may have surprised fans of the books where his identity is only revealed late. A choice on which the showrunneuse Lauren Schmidt Hissrich is justified in this interview given to Variety :
“He’s the big bad of the books and you don’t find out who he is until late, because you don’t need to know what he looks like. We thought we would keep the secret a little longer, but we knew that if we didn’t introduce it now, it wouldn’t be so threatening. We made our choice, to make the fans understand that this character intends to stay and that he will become even more dangerous.“.
With a season 3 already ordered by Netflix and being written, the sequel to The Witcher promises to be exciting, between Emhyr and Ciri, the arrival of the Wild Hunt and Voleth Meir … But while waiting to find Geralt de Riv (Henry Cavill) on our screens, Netflix invites us to discover in 2022 the origin of the Witers in the prequel.
