And a season 3 for The Witcher! Netflix used its global TUDUM event to break the good news to fans. The universe will expand with a new anime and a children’s series.



It’s an avalanche of announcements that Netflix has reserved for its fans during its TUDUM event which was held on September 25th. And as promised, the American giant has dedicated one of its panels to The Witcher, a fantasy series adapted from the novels of Andrzej Sapkowski.
After unveiling a new trailer for season 2 expected on December 17, as well as two extracts, Netflix has announced the surprise renewal of The Witcher for a season 3. The Witcher Geralt of Rivia – worn by Henry Cavill – will therefore continue to slay monsters, for our greatest happiness.
But Netflix does not intend to stop there. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, showrunner and producer, also let it be known that they are currently working on a new anime. The first, titled The Wolf’s Nightmare and centered on Geralt Vesemir’s mentor, had been acclaimed by subscribers. We do not yet know what this new film will be about, but it will explore more in depth the universe imagined by Sapkowski.
And if the series and this anime project are aimed at an informed audience because of violence and nudity, Netflix does not forget for the other part of its audience: the platform is also developing a more family series, which will therefore move away from the original material. Here again, nothing has been revealed about the plot …
