The Witcher 3 takes advantage of its PS5 patch, Xbox Series and PC to overshadow the imposing God of War Ragnarok.
The Witcher 3 recently received its long-awaited “new gen” patch on PS5, Xbox Series and PC history to afford a second youth. And despite a chaotic launch on PC and a few addicts on consoles, CD Projekt’s game gets away with the honors in addition to having quickly found its audience, so much so that its PS5 version has now crushed God of War Ragnarok on Metacritic. But for how long ?
The Witcher 3 neck and neck with God of War Ragnarok
Yes, the excellent God of War Ragnarokseveral times awarded at the Game Awards, has just been dethroned from its second place in the ranking of the best rated games on PS5 in 2022. Thanks to its new gen patch, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition – landed a Metacritic rating of 96 for just under 24 reviews at the time of writing, thus pushing God of War Ragnarok and its rating of 95 (for just over 140 reviews) in third place. As a bonus, the game even allows itself to stick Elden Ring, the GOTY 2022, which continues to squat the first place with a score of 96 too. In the hearts of players, on the other hand, God of War Ragnarok wins the bet with a rating of 7.9 versus 7.3 for the witcher.
The Witcher 3 performs on PS5 therefore and the other versions of the game have also had the right to many new opinions, mostly positive. Now remains to be seen if the PS5 version of The Witcher 3 will continue to stand up to Santa Monica’s god of war, or if the witcher will eventually give way to him.
The CD Projekt license is currently on everyone’s lips with this brand new patch and should follow us for years to come. The Polish studio is indeed planning a large number of projects from this same universe, starting with a The Witcher 4 and the remake of The Witcher first of the name. Another title still kept secret is also in development. We are not unemployed at CD Projekt.
