The Witcher 3: a feature that everyone was waiting for...or not

CD Projekt RED makes people happy. Fans have long been asking for a mechanic that’s as useless as it is essential. It is finally available with the free patch of The Witcher 3.

After long months of waiting, the PS5 update and Xbox Series of The Witcher 3 is finally available. If it is accompanied by some misadventures for the PC version, players and critics are unanimous on the work done by CD Projekt RED. Ray tracing, graphic overhaul, more refined textures, small gameplay changes, everything is done to make the experience even better. What they didn’t expect, however, was the addition of a feature that had been requested for years.

Yes, you can pet Roach in The Witcher 3

the patch next gen of The Witcher 3 brings its share of changes to the RPG. One of them is particularly talked about and it is not trivial. Often elevated to the rank of same on the Internet, the feature allowing you to pet animals in games has now become essential for some players. Many have been asking for such a mechanism for the 2015 behemoth, but CD Projekt RED could never satisfy their wish. Until now.

As awesome and useless as it is, you can now pet Roach in The Witcher 3. Geralt of Rivia can now show his affection to his fellow traveler by patting him on the back. The first fans of this feature are not the fans, but Roach, the faithful steed wagging its tail after this caress. A welcome little change that adds absolutely nothing to the gameplay, but updating The Witcher 3 contains some very useful and equally requested small changes. This is for example the case of one of the biggest problems of the game at launch: fall damage. They have finally been scaled down and Geralt can finally survive even falling from great heights.
