More than ten years after the launch of the series “The Walking Dead”, the origin of the living dead has finally been revealed to us by the final episode of its spin-off, “The Walking Dead: World Beyond”.

The origin of the living dead in The Walking Dead finally revealed! More than ten years after the launch of the horror series, an explanation has finally been provided to us as to the origin of the zombies. A real surprise in itself, since the origin of the creatures has never been revealed in the eponymous comic books by Robert Kirkman!

In the final episode of the spin-off The Walking Dead: World Beyond, a post-credits scene revealed that the virus that caused the end of the world comes from a laboratory… in France! In an abandoned complex, a researcher returns to the scene before being targeted by the revolver of a mysterious character. A conversation then begins between the two characters and thus allows to better understand the context of this bonus scene.

While the scientist emits the project to find a solution to put an end to all this, the man answers her “End it all? But you are the one causing it!”. A graffiti visible on the walls of the complex also reveals the inscription (in French in the text): “The Dead Are Born Here”.

In a reversal of the situation as unexpected as it is improbable, The Walking Dead: World Beyond has therefore taught us that the great villains of the horrific franchise are not the living dead, but the greatest bad-guys of Hollywood blockbusters: the French!

The two seasons of The Walking Dead: World Beyond can be found now exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
