Although “The Walking Dead” comes to an end with the current, eleventh season, we will still see some characters again. Among them is Samantha Morton’s Alpha, whose backstory is told in Tales of the Walking Dead.
Warning, this article contains spoilers regarding the fate of Samantha Morton’s alpha in the main series
Samantha Morton has been signed to an episode of the six-episode first season of Tales of the Walking Dead, multiple industry magazines have agreed. Each episode of this series, announced for summer 2022, stands on its own and since Morton’s villain Alpha was killed by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) in season ten, it’s safe to assume we’ll see a prequel story.
Already in the main series “The Walking Dead” there were flashbacks to Alpha’s past, leader of the Whisperers. Wearing the skin of zombies on their faces, this group was able to move undetected among the hordes of the undead and even command them.
“The Walking Dead” will end in 2022 with the 24th episode of the 11th season – but somehow not. In addition to the anthology series “Tales of the Walking Dead”, further spin-offs have already been announced. A series about Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) is being worked on, and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan are also to have their own offshoot series.
