On November 21, 2022, the very last episode of “The Walking Dead’ flicker across the screens (on Disney+ and ProSieben Fun). But even though the zombie hit will be completed after eleven seasons, we can still expect a lot of fresh supplies from the world of the comic adaptation. Several fan favorites will soon have their own series offshoots – which of course takes away a lot of the tension about their fates in the remaining episodes of the main series on the one hand, but on the other hand the farewells there are at least not quite as bitter.

In addition to a spin-off set in France about Daryl (Norman Reedus) and the big Rick Grimes comeback in the mini-series “The Walking Dead: Rick & Michonne” will also be “The Walking Dead: Dead City” was eagerly awaited. In it, once-enemy Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) take the spotlightwho end up together in isolated New York, which of course has not been spared from the zombie plague either.
In the first pictures of the spin-off, which have now been published as part of New York Comic Con, we can already see the two roaming the streets of the deserted Big Apple. But although they are now working together and trust each other, there will probably always be tensions between them, as indicated in the picture of Maggie holding a knife to Negan’s neck.
Of course, you can’t blame her for that, after all, years ago Negan smashed the skull of Maggie’s great love Glenn (Steven Yeun) in the most brutal way with a baseball bat. Even so many good deeds since then can’t make that easy to forget.
In half a year we will probably find out why these two of all people are setting off on a new adventure together and what else awaits them there: The six-part first season ofThe Walking Dead: Dead City is slated for release in April 2023 in the United States. When and how the series will find its way to Germany is not yet known.
