Pixar loves to hide little winks in his films! In “The Voyage of Arlo”, a character from the movie “Finding Dory” makes a (very) stealthy appearance. It’s about Hank the octopus!
Le Voyage d’Arlo: a sublime adventure by Pixar
Released on French screens in November 2015, The Voyage of Arlo is Pixar Studios’ 16th feature film. He recounts unexpected friendship between a young dinosaur, Arlo, and a little boy, Spot.
The pitch:
A couple of apatosaurs, give birth to their three children, Buck, Libby and Arlo. While Buck and Libby help out on the farm, Arlo tends to the poultry he has always feared. Hank the octopus makes an appearance
There is a tradition at Pixar that a nod to the next project is present in every animated film. Arlo appeared for example in Vice versa, during a sequence in the cerebral quarter:



In The Voyage of Arlo, it’s a nod to a character from the film Finding Dory (released in June 2016) which is present. Indeed, in the first part of the film, when Arlo falls into the lake, we can see, at the bottom of the water, Hank the octopus:



This is a very furtive nod to this funny character from the Dory’s World. A little surprise that Pixar fans have fun looking for with each new animated film.
