After the web-series, “The Visitor from the Future” becomes a film. A new adventure signed François Descraques who was able to benefit from the famous technique of LED screens. A method that did not only benefit the performers on the set.
Arnaud Ducret and Enya Baroux heroes of the film The visitor from the future
The early fans of the web series The visitor from the future (four seasons between 2009 and 2014) will be very happy to find their favorite characters with the film The visitor from the future. An ambitious and impressive feature film for a French production. François Descraques, the creator, is obviously back to directing. In front of the camera Florent Dorin puts on the costume of the “Visitor” again, Raphaël Descraques still embodies the nice loser Raph and Slimane-Baptiste Berhoun the Dr. Henry Castafolte. In this new adventure, the trio continues to try to change the fate of humanity by returning to the past to prevent disasters.

Thus, to prevent a nuclear power plant from exploding in the future, which will be at the origin of a toxic and deadly cloud which will impact the whole world, they will have to convince Gilbert Alibert not to sign a contract for the construction of this plant. Arnaud Ducret interprets this new character whileEnya Baroux plays his daughter who also wants her father to do more for the environment.
Arnaud Ducret and Enya Baroux therefore join this team, they who had never heard of the Visitor from the future before joining the project. They were then convinced by the universe of François Descraquesthe father/daughter relationship at the center of the feature film, and ecological discourse which, if at the time of the web-series seemed to be pure science fiction, appears very current today.
motion sickness
On the shooting side, the team of Visitor from the future was able to film part of the production outdoors (in times of covid) but also to use a fashionable technique for certain digital effects, that LED screens. As for The Mandalorian or more recently The Batmanthis method replaces green screens and consists of surrounding the actors with LED screens to display a digital set live.
In the case of Visitor from the futurethis method was used for the scene where, in a van, Gilbert and his daughter discover the apocalyptic future. But this use of LED screens has not done them all good, as Arnaud Ducret explained to us in an interview.
When you’re not moving and the screens keep spinning behind you, there’s a little moment when you feel like you’re going to vomit.

A motion sickness strong as Enya Baroux told us, for a scene shot on the last day. Fortunately their nausea could be overcome and was not too dramatic, instead giving rise to a few giggles.
This anecdote is worth listening to in the video below (from 2min36) which contains our entire meeting with the duo. The visitor from the future is to be discovered in theaters on September 7, 2022.
