Expected on February 25 on Netflix, Vikings: Valhalla is revealed in an epic trailer, which promises to be at least as bloody as the original series.
The Vikings demand revenge. This is what the epic new trailer for Vikings: Valhalla, the spin-off of the very popular series centered on Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) and his sons, reveals. Scheduled for February 25 on Netflix, this historical drama should be as bloody as Michael Hirst’s original series.
Set 100 years after the parent series, Vikings: Valhalla tells the story of the legendary descendants of the Vikings and their enemies, including the legendary Leif Eriksson, Freydis Eiriksdottir, Harald Sigurdsson and William the Conqueror. Ready to do anything to survive in a changing Europe, the Vikings will seek revenge on their oppressors and fight the English.
As tensions between the Vikings and English royalty reach a bloody tipping point and the Vikings themselves fall out over their pagan and Christian beliefs, iconic figures embark on an epic journey that takes them through the oceans and on the battlefields, from Kattegat to England, and beyond, in a struggle for survival and glory.
Vikings: Valhalla is created by Jeb Stuart and produced by Michael Hirst, which guarantees fidelity to the spirit of the original series. The episodes are directed by BAFTA-winning Danish director Niels Arden Oplev, Steve Saint Leger, who has already directed several episodes of Vikings, and Hannah Quinn.
The cast includes Sam Corlett, Frida Gustavsson, Leo Suter, Caroline Henderson, Bradley Freegard, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Pollyanna McIntosh, Asbjørn Krogh, David Oakes, Pääru Oja and Louis Davison.
