In recent years the RTS are all the same more rare. But THQ Nordic wants to revive interest with The Valiant, a 100% medieval strategy game.
The Valiant is billed as an action RTS with RPG elements, designed to bring a new experience to gamers who want something new to sink their teeth into. Focused on more tactical combat with reduced forces, construction seems to have less importance than in a more classic Age of Empires.
The Valiant wants to change from the more traditional RTS
Players will be able to embark on a vast campaign with 15 missions and each mission will have to be carefully prepared through a small number of troops and heroes each having 3 skill trees. The Valiant also features two different multiplayer modes: competitive and cooperative. While the game’s campaign is designed as a single-player experience, 3 friends can enjoy the Last Man Standing mode together and defend against waves of enemies, including mini-bosses and bosses. .

The PVP mode offers 1vs1 or 2v2 scenarios which consist of quick clashes where players capture control points.
Historical setting but fictional scenario
In The Valiantt the main protagonist Theoderich takes up arms to stop Ulrich, his former brother-in-arms who is setting Europe and the Holy Land on fire in his quest to find an ancient relic called the Staff of Aeron.
The game is planned for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series for a date still unknown.
