Currently in filming, The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan and The Three Musketeers: Milady have just been given release dates… in 2023.
While his film Eiffel is still showing, Martin Bourboulon is currently filming another ambitious French project, or rather two: Les Trois Mousquetaires: D’Artagnan and Les Trois Mousquetaires: Milady.
Written after the work of Alexandre Dumas by the duo with whom the director has already collaborated on Papa ou Maman – Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de la Patellière – these feature films have a 5-star cast.
François Civil (D’Artagnan), Vincent Cassel (Athos), Romain Duris (Aramis), Pio Marmaï (Porthos), Eva Green (Milady), Louis Garrel (Louis XIII), Vicky Krieps (Queen Anne of Austria), Lyna Khoudri (Constance Bonacieux), Jacob Fortune Lloyd (the Duke of Buckingham) and Eric Ruf (the Cardinal de Richelieu) have all responded to this long-term filming which began in September and which is to continue until May 2022.
Separated by several months
It is then on April 5, 2023 that the French will be able to discover in the cinema the first part of this diptych, centered on D’Artagnan, as Pathé has just announced. As for the second episode, centered on Milady, it will be necessary to wait a few more months since it will arrive in theaters on December 13, 2023.
The films, shot exclusively in France, will take viewers from the Louvre to Buckingham Palace, from the lowlands of Paris to the siege of La Rochelle in a Kingdom divided by the wars of religion and threatened with invasion by England where a handful of men and women will cross their swords and link their destiny to that of France.
